Captivating

"The culture of women in the church today is crippled by some very pervasive lies. 'To be spiritual is to be busy. To be spiritual is to be disciplined. To be spiritual is to be dutiful.' No, to be spiritual is to be in a Romance with God. The desire to be romanced lies deep in the heart of every woman. It is for such that you were made. And you are romanced, and ever will be."

Love that. This is a lesson I am slowly coming to terms with. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful quote!

This is a great book!!

Ouch, though. My post today was about how I want to be more disciplined. This was a good reminder that my being disciplined is good for me, but it's not about being spiritual.

You rock, Earen!

Thank you for reminding me that I am romanced by the greatest Lover of all.

thanks. i have read many of the eldredge books. i needed to be reminded that it is in my make up to want, even need to be romanced. sometimes i think the busyness becomes a distraction from the lack of romance and intimacy i am pursuing with God. Come to think about it even with my husband.
